Sounds really exciting that kids have their own Facebook now & i.e. Grom Social. The social networking site has around 14,500 members & guess what… the brain behind Grom Social is of a 12 yrs. old guy Zach Marks’s.
The first time when I heard the name I got amazed. A 12 yrs. old kid can think at such a high level!!
Zach Marks, the genius
Zach Marks(ZM) & Mark Zuckerberg(MZ) sound same, don’t they? Both are the founders of Social Networking sites. The reason behind the foundation of Grom Social is interesting too, Zach was forbidden to join Facebook because at that time he was just 11 & the minimum age for joining Facebook is 13 but who cares. He made an account with Facebook but got caught due to his family friend.
Why Grom Social?
Zach’s parents taunted him in a way that made him desperate about a social network for kids below 13. He was asked to make his own social network if he wanted to make an account!! Actually a normal, full of taunt, dialogue from any parent sounds same but Zach took it seriously & after one year launched Grom Social for kids below 13 yrs. of age.
Grom is an Australian surfer slang that means a young individual who wants to learn. It’s a website for kids, but it needs an adult with a kid when signing up. An adult can also make an account on it but a kid must be there with him/her. It’s more like an educational fun zone for kids where they can make friends, can chat. Kids can play games, learn about health & fitness, sports. They can join groups there according to their interests.
Team Behind Grom Social
Marks didn’t do everything at his own but his father’s friend helped him in living his dream of Grom Social. The idea behind the social networking site was of Marks only. Various other team members are there who helped to make this social place live.
Now, the other rival is there for Facebook & that’s Marks’s Grom Social. The kid is really outstanding that’s why he made such online place possible for kids. Kids are there on Facebook with wrong DOB’s & it’s impossible to stop them. Will Grom Social be able to divert kids from Facebook to it’s platform?
